Description

Hi,
For the plugin kernel-libipsec of libcharon,
is there a limitation for the maximum number of the created tun devices please ?
In others words, tunX with X=0 until which number please ?
I am working in the Linux and Android environments.

Thanks in advance for your help,
Have a nice day,
Kind Regards,
Jean-Luc J

For the plugin kernel-libipsec of libcharon,

Please read kernel-libipsec for caveats when using this plugin.

is there a limitation for the maximum number of the created tun devices please ?

It only creates and uses a single TUN device on Linux.

I am working in the Linux and Android environments.

On Android that plugin is irrelevant (the Android app has its own kernel interface) and on Linux you shouldn't use it.

Thanks you Tobias for your answer.
On Linux, we are using that plugin to have packets in userland and to have the libipsec SW code in userland also.
It is a choice of software conception for a demo (it is not a product).
We know the limitation of that plugin:
"Note that libipsec is not intended for scenarios with high amounts of traffic or high burst traffic."
The high amount of traffic is not our goal for that demo.

Jean-Luc
